36th Annual Savannah Jazz Festival, September 17-23, 2017

Presented by Coastal Jazz Association

Savannah Jazz Festival is a week-long FREE festival run entirely by volunteers.  There are shows throughout the city during the week, culminating in Forsyth Park Thursday and Friday evening and Saturday during the day and the evening. Volunteer to be a part of this one-of-a-kind community event!

Ricardo Ochoa’s Tribute to the Legends of Jazz Violin,  August 20, 2017

Velvet Caravan founder member and violinist Ricardo Ochoa has summit a collection of first class musicians including pianist Kevin Bales from Atlanta, GA and bassist Alexander Berti from Miami, FL to pay tribute to the legends of Jazz violin. Eddie South, Stephane Grappelli, Staff Smith and Joe Venutti are just a few legends behind the compositions and the narrative of this show. Music from as early as the 1920’s to contemporary compositions with a great variety of styles.

Orchestrated by the Coastal Jazz Association for 36 years, the Savannah Jazz Festival is sponsored in part by the City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs. The Festival hosts both internationally acclaimed and regionally prominent artists. Don’t miss special one-of-a-kind events such as Monday evening’s Ben Tucker Alumni Band performance followed by the premiere of the Ben Tucker Documentary! And be sure to not miss out on special Late Night Jame Sessions at Savannah’s beloved music spots Thursday, Friday and Saturday!

Set in various venues throughout the Hostess City to reach as broad an audience as possible from Sunday through Wednesday, we bring it all home for the three days in Forsyth Park

 

Jeremy Davis, of The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra, Plays the Music of Dave Pell Octet, October 15, 2017

Louisiana native Jeremy Davis has lead various bands on over 200 shows a year on the road before forming the Equinox Orchestra. Jeremy’s groups have been featured at festivals, theatres and venues all across the country.  He has performed in conjunction with David Sanborn, Ellis Marsalis, George Clinton, The Allman Brothers, Gov’t Mule, The Beach Boys, Col. Bruce Hampton, Derek Trucks, Jennifer Holiday, Fred Wesley, Charice, Ellis Hall, Bill Watrous, Fred Wesley, Wycliffe Gordon, several American Idol alums and many, many more.  Jeremy and his beautiful wife Meredith have been blessed with three children —  Leighton, Madden, and Miller Davis.
